Crescent Moon Studio Starts another Series of Art Classes for Adults

Join Martin Rollins and colleagues in a new schedule of art classes in the Crescent Moon Studio. Examples of Martin's artwork can be viewed online at www.bdeemer.com. SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Painting Club with Facilitator: Claudia Hammer (635-3008) Mondays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan 4th through February 22nd; Fee: 8 weeks for $150 Join this group of oil painters who meet about 46 weeks of the year, working on their different project, paints, and telling jokes! Claudia helps out with each member and provides advice as needed. Pay-as-you-go option for the club is $20 per meeting. Portrait Studio with Instructor: Claudia Hammer (625-3008) Tuesdays 9:30 a.m.to 12 noon Jan 5th through February 9th; Fee: 6 weeks for $225 Come prepared to work in a portraiture class that can accommodate painters as well as those who choose to work in a dry media such as soft pastel or charcoal. Our first class focuses on sketching in oil (or charcoal) using a series of quick poses concentrated on capturing gestures. Other classes will focus on the head and shoulders, mixing skin tones and capturing the light and shadow, with one sustained pose for the remainder of classes. Life Drawing Studio with Instructor: Claudia Hammer (625-3008) Thursdays 6:p.m to 8:30 p.m. Jan 7ththrough February 11th; Fee: 6 weeks for $225* Life drawing based on truly seeing, and understanding what you see, is the foundation for all good drawing. This class helps strengthen drawing skills by deepening your observation skills and your responsiveness in drawing the human figure. Receiving lots of individual attention, participants will work with quick sketches and longer poses, with each student being taught at their skill level. Friday Figure Drawing with Facilitator: Claudia Hammer (625-3008) Fridays 10:a.m.to 1p.m. Jan 8th through February 26th ; Fee: $15 per session If you enjoy drawing or painting from the figure, please join us on Friday mornings to work independently from a live model. Your fee goes towards the cost of the model and rent for the space. No instruction provided. Saturday Morning Studio with Instructor: Martin Rollins (419-7940) Saturdays 9:30a.m. to 12noon Jan 9th through February 13th; Fee: $225* This class is an "open studio" environment where artists pursue their individual artistic interests in a mutually supportive learning environment. While still-life arrangements are available for those working from direct observation, the class is designed to accommodate the varied interests and creative paths of its participants. In past sessions these paths have included exploration into personal imagery and working from photographic references. Saturday Afternoon Studio with Instructor: Martin Rollins (419-7940) Saturdays 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan 9th through February 13th; Fee: $225* Beginning and intermediate students are welcomed into a course exploring color relationships, light and dark value structures, and basic drawing and painting processes. Each student receives individual instruction relative to their own direction and interests with drawing and painting. While the subject matter for the course proceeds from direct observation, the true focus of the class is on the development of personal self-expression. * Pay as you go option - $ 37.50 Individual Saturday classes within the set class schedules outlined above (subject to availability). This option does not include bonus classes. Crescent Moon Studio is on the third floor of the Center, Suite 304. The Center is an accessible facility.
